HVAC and COVID-19

As the country continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains important to take extra precautionary measures to reduce the spread of the virus. This is especially true in markets such as the HVAC industry, where technicians must visit client homes to diagnose and treat any problems. COVID-19 is spread extremely easily and it's important to employ socially distant practices when possible; however, if a repair or maintenance problem pops up, calling for assistance might be unavoidable.

Aircon, like other HVAC companies, is committed to the safety of our customers and our staff. We continue to closely follow the guidelines set out by the CDC and the WHO at all times. This might make your HVAC appointment look a bit different than it once did, but it will help keep everyone safe.

Safety Measures

As we continue to follow the guidelines set out by the WHO and the CDC, we have employed extra precautions to keep ourselves and our clients as safe as possible. Personal protective equipment, such as masks and gloves, will be worn for the duration of the appointment. In addition, we will be careful to maintain a respectful physical distance from our clients at all times. While it can be difficult or impossible to maintain the recommended six feet of distance while working indoors, keeping as much space between ourselves and our customers can still help reduce the spread of the virus.

Disinfecting

COVID-19 and other conditions are most often spread by contaminated breath vapor and droplets in the air. If an infected person speaks, sneezes, or coughs on or near a surface, that surface can become contaminated for a period of time before the virus dies. Anyone who touches that surface and then touches their face therefore stands an increased likelihood of contracting the virus. To avoid this, our professionals will touch as few surfaces as possible and wash or disinfect our hands thoroughly after each visit. Our customers are advised to do the same upon our departure.

Prioritize

While the virus is still spreading, consider how necessary your HVAC service is. While emergency repairs and replacements are necessary, especially in Texas heat, it might be best to delay routine maintenance or inspections in order to minimize risk.

The Importance of Duct Cleaning

Now, more than ever, it is vital to keep your home or commercial building as well-ventilated as possible. Routine duct cleaning and preventative maintenance helps keep your property's air filtration system free of dust, dirt, and debris. Duct cleaning can help alleviate symptoms of allergies and colds, as well as reducing the spread of more serious conditions. If you or a family member is at risk for COVID-19 or other respiratory conditions, consider a duct cleaning to help alleviate difficulties.

Patience

While these measures can be tedious or even inconvenient at times, they are employed to protect the most vulnerable people in our population. Taking additional safety measures can save lives.
